Here already most of the cyclists have passed us. A rumble strip in the middle of the road before a stop sign shakes my head back and forth. Then another one... Woman, look out ... there is a third one coming up! Yup: that one she notices, cycling around it. The road next to the Interstate 90 and the railway is flat. But what is that?
...A plane rides the train! It has no wings. Mile 37 - in Moorcroft - is the picnic station. Here, the Cycle America staff offers us all kinds of good foods: fruit, veggies, bread, candy, water and even the Nutella is there. Some riders are still hanging out there. I am getting itchy to keep going: the tough part of the ride is in the afternoon ride. My woman takes my first picture of the ride at the Keyhole Reservoir.
Come on, woman: there is some serious climbing to do now. Let's see how strong you are now! The rolling uphills toward Devil's Tower are not that easy for her, but in the end there is a rewarding Mint chocolate chip ice cream waiting at the top of the hill. Also - the view of the Tower is formidastic!
We succeeded our first ride - we survived. And guess what - tomorrow is already a rest day! Our first 70 miles are done! Time for a margarita celebration time in the evening.
