Sunday, July 6th: Devil's Tower, WY or ... sitting bones do not hurt!

Today we could sleep in which meant that around 7 am my woman opened the tent fly. Time to do laundry first, since the cafe of the campground wasn't yet open. Having enough quarters for the machines is not so easy, but Kerri is willing to share a dryer. My woman thinks she's on the Olympic beam balancing the curb. If she doesn't take care she'll fall off, twist her ankle and the Olympic cycling dream will be over! She puts the clean clothes in the Green Turtle and then we head to the cafe - with the laptop. First a breakfast with some other riders and then she stays in the cool cafe to arrange her traveling plans for the rest of the summer. You will not believe it, but it took her the whole day. She sat on the same chair for hours - not moving - while I wanted to climb that funny natural wonder outside. I could have gone by myself, but I'd miss the company. Anyways, when new riders came in, my woman finally finished her thinking, comparing and deciding. We'll stay till Michigan Lake. After dinner we went outside again. But wait a minute - that smell - I know ... 1991 ... our first cycling trip in the USA with Adventure Cycling: going from Missoula, MT to Jasper in Canada! It's the Bubna guy: Alan! This is so weird and great! I remember his cooking on the trip was excellent!
Back at the tents Gregg holds a long long meeting, which my boss attends with half an ear. In the tent it's time to reorganize the luggage and get the things ready for tomorrow's ride.
