The
sunrise this morning is pretty nice to watch! Especially with the people around
taking their tents down on the grass field around the school. My woman sees a
Wal Mart and decides to go in and see what she can do about her growing a beard
in one day! Ha … she found something… I see a smile on her face! Now we can
move on. We think we are the last ones on the route but fast Rob catches us!
Clara City is another small town with a bakery, railroad tracks and a gas
station, where we meet up with the wise Eli.
He is so friendly to block the
wind for us. Cycle America picks out some nice roads for us … And now they have
marked the rumble strips very well. We are still heading east which means we
mostly get a cross wind. We see lots of corn … lots of them!! Danube is not a
river here but another small town – they are places to look forward to – it’s a
change of scenery instead of … the corn.
Olivia brings us food – well – not much.
My woman gives Eli the last corn on the cob and … a hug: he’s going to the
school with the van. My woman hops on Sweet Machine and we are off for another
37 miles of cycling along … more corn. And also an army of ... what???
My woman envisions those machines waking up in the middle of the night and moving around by themselves... of course killing humans (and dogs too!). An old town hall is a reason to get off the saddle!
Hey woman ... did you see the name of the county here?
The Aussie women Kate and “Hey Renei”
arrive at the school with some balloons on their helmets. Crazy women down
under! At the school my woman finds a good secret spot where she and Shuli work
on their beard! Two weeks ago, a guy Terry had announced that there would be a
beard contest. Both Shuli and my woman made up a plan to join. In the end, the
contest had changed into a “look alike Gregg” ... anyways: I know Shuli with
the bird in her beard and my woman had a lot of fun preparing for the contest. Maybe some pictures later?
